The use of Power BI is rapidly increasing. More and more organizations are using Power BI and the number of users per organization is growing. Issues surrounding data security have always been an important issue, but are becoming increasingly important with an increasing number of users.

How do you ensure that users have access to the information they need? And, certainly against the background of strict privacy guidelines such as AVG (GDPR): how do you screen your data from people who may not have access?
In Power BI, much attention has been paid to information security. In some cases (SQL Server or Azure) Analysis Services is required. With these sessions you gradually learn everything about the various aspects of security in and around Power BI. We also discuss how to manage this security manageable for larger numbers of users by using the Active Directory.

Topics

The following types of security are covered :

1. Security of the Power BI cloud platform.
2. User access to reports and dashboards.
3. Securing data within a model with row-level security and DAX filters.
4. Shielding detail data with DAX.
5. Shielding tables and columns in a model (object-level security).
